does disneyland do anything special when you go on your birthday? just wondering because I'll be going there in less than a month and debating if it's worth going on my birthday or just go another day. thanks! :)
You can get an “It’s My Birthday” pin at City Hall. It may not seem like a lot, but everyone (and I mean everyone) who sees it will wish you a happy birthday. It really makes you feel special!
so, because you're posting photos from the new Little Mermaid ride and i'm curious, are the character replicas in the ride animatronics or are they like the few large-ish figures in the Peter Pan ride that don't move?
Animatronics! They move pretty realistically, too - unlike anything I’ve seen in other Disneyland rides.
Just had a sneak peak of the new Ariel's Undersea Adventure ride at DCA!
It was very much like a Haunted Mansion-esque in terms of the mechanics. You get into a “shell” that’s attached to a conveyer belt that then takes you “under the sea” on an adventure with Ariel - basically through a condensed version of the movie.
The animatronics looked SO real. Kind of creepy, actually - King Triton especially. Haha
Line was only 20 minutes! (Though this probably won’t be the case once it “officially” opens June 3rd.)
The songs! I was singing along the whole time like a dork.
Sebastian’s voice. He talks/sings a lot throughout the ride and it was very obviously not the voice of the original Sebastian. Totally distracting! Especially when he’s singing “Under the Sea.” :(
It felt really short. But then - I feel that way about pretty much every Disneyland ride. ;)
Overall, I’d give it a B+. Nothing life-changing, but very cute and enjoyable!
goodness gracious! what kind of calendar do you have that incorporates all sorts of little mermaid stuff?? the little mermaid is my favorite movie of all time and i'm going to disneyland in july! tell me the things i can't miss :D
also, i love your blog <3
The “Soundsational Summer” calendar was mailed to me by Disney as part of my Annual Passholder perks. All Disneyland Annual Passholders get stuff like this in the mail on occasion - magazines, newsletters, etc.
So I've been at Disneyland for the past two days and tomorrow is my last day. I was thinking of you and your blog since you bring that magical Disney air to tumblr. :) Is there anything you'd recommend for me to do on my last day? Also, finding face characters are so difficult. Is threre a specific time and place to find them? :(
Have you gone on The Little Mermaid or Star Tours yet? They’ve been having soft openings all weekend and if I were you I’d definitely try to ride them before leaving!!
Face characters sometimes hang out at the entrance of Disneyland, as well as by It’s a Small World. I see Mary Poppins walking along Main Street a lot with her parasol, and Alice is usually with the Mad Hatter over in Fantasyland. Face characters can be tricky to track down - I feel like they’re always on the move! Just keep your eyes peeled. Or ask a cast member if you have a specific character in mind. They should know the schedules of who is where at what time. :)
Are there Disney iPad cases at Disneyland? When I went for Grad Nite, I couldn't find them. =( Do YOU have a Disney case for your iPad?
I haven’t seen any Disney iPad cases at Disneyland, but you can find some online here. [ EDIT:jinellvaleros just informed me that they do indeed sell iPad cases in Downtown Disney and in DCA! ]
The case I use is by TwelveSouth. It’s not Disney (blasphemy, I know) but I absolutely love it. People always ask me where I got the “cool book” without knowing that it’s actually hiding my iPad! I feel like I’m walking the halls of Hogwarts with a spell book ;)
You have inspired me to make a notebook filled with Disney doodles (drawn by me) and quotes/lyrics. You have made some great doodles and you have posted my favorite clips from Disney movies. Thanks for being so amazing/inspirational/a great drawer/the most epic disneyland fan ever! I hope you get the chance to visit Disney World soon.
